Chemical reaction and its type
What is Chemical Reactions?
Ø Chemical Reaction:-The process in which involve a chemical change is called a chemical reaction.Rearrangement of atoms takes place in a chemical reaction.
During chemical reaction energy
either released or absorbed.
· Reactants:- The substance which take part in a chemical reaction.
· Combination reaction :- The reaction in which two or more substances combine to form a new single substance.
Example:- C +
O2 → CO2.
· Decomposition reaction:- The reaction in which a single compound decompose into two or more smaller compound.

In above example upward arrow represent heat is evolved in
this reaction.
The Decomposition
reaction is the inverse of Combination reaction.
· Displacement reaction:- The reaction in which the atom of one element displace the atom of another element from compound and form a new compound.
Generally a more active
element displace the another element which is less active .
Example:-

In this example Fe is
more active than Cu .
· Double Displacement Reaction:- The reaction in which two compounds react and an exchange of ions take place and form new compounds.
Example :-

Ø Precipitation reaction:- Any reaction in which precipitate (insoluble solid ) is formed is called precipitation reaction.
Double displacement reaction are also precipitation reactions.
Ø Exothermic reaction :-
The
chemical reaction in which heat is released or evolved.
Ø Endothermic reaction :-
The chemical reaction in which
heat is absorbed.
Ø Reversible Reaction:-
The
chemical reaction which proceeds in both direction (Forward as well as Backward
direction) is called Reversible reaction.

Ø Irreversible reaction :-
The chemical reaction in which
reaction proceeds in only one direction is called irreversible reaction.

Ø Neutralisation reaction :-
The reaction in which acid and base
react and form salt and water .

Ø Photo Chemical Reaction:-
The
chemical reaction which occurs in the presence of sunlight is called Photo
Chemical Reaction.
